Murry Christmiis

This break has been weird and wonderful. Got a haircut, new drivers license, teeth cleaned, tires rotated (eventually) and an x-ray. I thought I would have so much more time than I did during Thanksgiving but we leave for the cabin early Tuesday morning and I already feel like I won't get to see everyone/do everything that I want to.

I've always loved flying, but flying home next to and in front of two of your best friends is the best. I also love chatty old men who just want to hear about your life and then proceed to watch a movie and play racing car games on their iPad; sans headphones of course. Oh yeah and the cherry on top is when they give you a thumbs up when you spill all the contents of your drink on your neighbor. On an unrelated tangent, I have this great ability to go to the bathroom right when we hit the worst turbulence of the whole flight. Yeehaw. Hahah actually it's really funny.
I got to go to lunch at Briarhill with Hannah's twin sisters. Han's taco was lacking due to shuffling around in el coche. Oh ho ho Mexican food joke.
Stuco Reunion! Of course Karbs was dressed to the nines for Snowman Day. Would you expect anything less?
Lexi and I took Panda to our brothers at school. We think it's really cute that we're friends, and they're friends. We also think that we're really great sisters.
~*drive friendly, the texas way*~
It is so fun having Sydney live so close!

I have had some fantastic family quality time.I think that everyone thinks that their family is funny but I think my family is hilarious. My family makes me laugh harder than anyone that I know. My little brothers Matt & Mark and I have the same sense of humor. I don't know whether to praise them or be embarrassed for myself.
We think we're lyke rull fun knee

ALSO
FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE:

Thanks to parents that are happy to volunteer their kids, we were able to clean the church. Oh ho ho the fun that we had. Also I had no idea my voice was so irritating. Why didn't anyone tell me?

Ode to Fall Semester

This semester has been so much fun. Obviously very different from high school, but surprisingly different from Summer term too. Things I learned in school the past fourish months:

1. The Brigham Young University Campus is PRETTY. I was expecting it to get so cold and gray and ugly fast but I felt so pleased and happy on my walks to school.

2. Fall can be pretty too. Texas falls are non-existent, it basically goes straight from summer to winter. The changing leaves were such a nice sight.
3. College football games are really different from high school football games. They are a fun but kind of not as fun.  Also the MHS band is better than the BYU band. Not to be annoying... but second in the nation... just saying.

4. I still love making new friends. I've met some really fantastic people this semester. Are there lots of weird, overenthusiastic, overeager, typical Mormons that go to BYU? Yes. But there are also some fun, happy, funny people that I feel like I've known forever. Dang this post just keeps getting cheesier and cheesier.

5. I'm obsessed with my sister Jen and living in the same place as her has been perfect. She's going to Jerusalem next semester and I wish so badly she could just pack me in her suitcase. Taking two classes together was a decision with no regrets.

6. Subway chocolate chip cookies are worth every single calorie. Holy oh my baby goodness gracious now I'm craving.
7. Dates are fun.

8. Spelunking leads to good good good happy fun wonderful friendships. Three cheers each for Avery Brooke.

9.Not all college boys are jerks. I have made awesome boy space friends here who share my standards, morals and ideals.

10. Goodbyes are hard! I will miss my friends Josh, Landon, Brighton, Derek, Michael A., Sheldon, Chase, Michael G., Ty, Jacob, Doug, Mitch, that are leaving/left this semester for their missions.

ON TO WINTER SEMESTER!

bye joshy

Also I have recently realized that I am obsessed with editing videos and photos. And I like to think that I'm maybe a little good at it too?

finals week

Contrary to apparently all of my friends, I have actually loved finals week. Perhaps it's because I don't get stressed out about school? This past weekend and the past few days have actually been perfect.

Fancy schmancy lunch in the Skyroom, (dining plus is possibly the best thing to ever happen to me) on Brooke's birthday! Buffets are a beautiful thing.

I love these people.

Double header sleepover girls nights with Lindsay and Annabel, two of my FAVORITES! They're a lot prettier in real life...

On Saturday we pushed our beds together. More room for activities, we can be geographically even closer, this helps with our study habits, the list goes on and on.

Happy dinner a la Sam with old Texas friends. So fun to be together.

Cliff and Brooke came with Sydney and me to our ward talent show. I don't know what it is about Mormons but eevveryyone has to be talented. I felt great about being an audience member.

Studying for my Book of Mormon final on our ginormo bed is bliss. Look at Sydney working so hard in the back there. She is a much better student than I'll ever be.

Utah really is beautiful. As much as I hate the cold, I really like snow. I feel that it makes the cold justified. Today was my last walk to the Maeser Building. It was bittersweet. I think it's the coolest building on campus but it also signifies the end of Political Science. THANK GOODNESS. I am so happy I switched majors. I would have been miserable.

I love Rancherito's, and I love love love these people. Brighton is headed to Brazil, Landon to Bolivia, and Josh to Russia. I will miss them very much.

So close.

Tucanos with Brik

Tonight was the Heleman Halls Christmas Invitational that (unfortch for all the freshman boys), Brookie, Syd and I had to miss. Landon's dad was in town so he offered to take us all out to eat. I'd never been to Tucano's before, only heard the stories of people throwing up after eating too much meat. Yipes. I'm really not much of a meat eater in the first place so needless to say I was a little concerned. I'm also a very picky eater. I know, I'm working on it. If I end up going on a mission for my church I'm sure the Lord would find it very funny to send  me to somewhere with food I just couldn't handle. I digress. The food was actually very tasty, the weather freezing and the company wonderful. I'm really gonna miss those boys.

Happy birthday to Brooke, tomorrow!! Isn't she the cutest?
Action shot with the server bringing the meat around. Landon and Brighton love when I take pictures of them. I'd also like to point out Brik's hand. I was too scared to take a full on picture of him.

Who has two thumbs and has the perfect roommate? Sydney.

Please enjoy this gem. This is a great representation of the night. Landon's a little camera shy, while Syd clearly is not.

i'm freezing cold

I'm trying very hard not to be That Annoying Girl from the South who cannot stop complaining about The Cold but honestly. I can already tell this is the beginning of a trial.
I didn't take this picture of the Bell Tower here at BYU, just found it a la google images. WOW. That's what I have to look forward to! Yippee! I also have this cute little quirk called I hate blow drying my hair. As the temperatures are below freezing, I can no longer walk to class with wet hair. Sounds like not a big deal, but to this girl, it is. In all honesty I am getting burned out of Fall semester. I am sick and tired of my classes, all the food on campus, (minus, of course, subway chocolate chip cookies. oh how i adore you.) and some of the annoying social aspects of my life I am dealing with. I am oh so ready for the break.

Schedule
this week- study study study
next week- take exams and pack for california!!!
next weekend- Jazz and Bennett's wedding in San Diego! CAN'T WAIT.
next next sunday- fly home to my happy lovely family
next next next sunday- christmas! yippity skippity!
next next next week- cabin in the Piney Woods of Nacogdoches, Texas. bless it.

Then I can return to the Happy Valley that I hold so dear to my heart and take new classes and make new friends and enjoy a new semester refreshed and rejuvenated and sister-less. ( triste. :/ )

Also pretty much this entire post was negative and depressing. Here is a Christmas song I'm digging lately.

happy december

We love Christmas.

2108 Taylor is READY.

Also this is hands down, the coolest Christmas lights display I've ever seen. And it's a short drive away from my home in Texas! You better believe I will be making a stop by there.
