Little Victories

Guys, let's talk about small victories. I am all about celebrating the little joys (us pious folk sometimes even call them "tender mercies") because there are significantly more of them then the massive wins.

1. I worked out. For the first time since I've been here in Jerusalem. I know objectively that I love working out and it makes me feel/sleep/think/act better and I could go on and on about how I brought the wrong type of shorts or how much it really wrecks my hair washing schedule but I've just plain been LAZYYYY. There I said it. But. BUT. Finally a two nights ago I ran laps outside on the huge patio then biked in the Center gym while studying for final #1 of 5 this week. Here's an amused-with-myself/hoping-nobody-walks-in selfie to document.

2. I dropped my phone flat on it's screen a few days before I came and the front cam has been so janky ever since. For the first two moths there was a huge shard of glass obstructing the camera but it finally got jostled (all the jogging, probably. lol jokes, jokes) enough to clear enough space for me to send pictures of my face to my loved ones. Oh, what an age we live in. 2016, here's to you!

If you're waiting for the tiny victories, those were the two victories. I exercised 1x in the last two months and my front camera is usable. Lol. That's it. Nothing to see here, folks.

Love Day

So half the reason I even have a blog is because it's fun to look back and read it. Let's be honest, we all love to stalk ourselves. Who doesn't get a kick of reading old journals, no matter how cringe-worthy they are?! Anyways today I went back and read my blog entry on last Valentine's Day. Oh ho ho I was so incredibly single it kind of makes me giggle.

Last year my date cancelled on me, day of. We were supposed to double with his roommate and Sydney, and the roommate decided to cancel too after hearing the news. And yet, neither of us were really all too disappointed because it meant we got to go to dinner with Sydney's sibs and mama who was in town. And also at that point we preferred each other's company to any boy in Provo soooo.....

A lot happens in a year! Twelve months ago I was happy to get cards and letters from my missionary pals, and now I'm about to be a missionary myself.

Happy Valentine's Day! I'm surrounded by people I love and feel incredibly grateful for that fact. Give somebody a hug. Or a side hug, if you're wary about touching other people like my pal Brookie is.

Look how cute my valentine is :)

Witches Night Out & other Happys

Last night I had the pleasure of attending Witches Night Out. If theres one thing I love its a girls night and it was so fun of Ashley to invite me! It was fun to be with girls that I didn't know very well and to make friends at this funny event with lots of 50+ year old women in full witchy garb. The best part was the girls dressed as Salem pilgrims.

I kind of hate Halloween but it was a good reminder that there is still plenty of fun clean happy fall-y things do around Halloween time too.
